Strike action has been averted at Irish Rail.

Tipperary supporters planning on taking the train to Dublin for the All Ireland final on Sunday will now be able to do so.

Irish Rail says all sides have agreed to endorse a revised set of proposals addressing “all key issues”.

Members of both SIPTU and the National Bus and Rail Union held strikes last month in a dispute over pay cuts at the company – with three further days of action planned, which have now been cancelled.

The proposals agreed last night will have to be put to a ballot of union members, with Irish Rail management agreeing to pause pay reduction for three weeks to facilitate a vote.

Talks finished up at the LRC at around 1.30 this morning.
