170 civil marriages were registered in Tipperary in 2013.

These counted for over a fifth of all marriages in the county with a total of 749 people tying the knot last year.

There was just one same sex female civil partnership recorded here – in North Tipp

Over all 20,680 couples said “I do” in 2012 with August the busiest month to get hitched.

Friday and Saturday were the most popular days to tie the knot, while Sunday was the least favourite.
