Fears next phase of Nenagh works may impact on business and parking

Construction is currently focused on Stafford Street and that is scheduled to continue until March when the focus will turn to Friar Street and Abbey Street.

Access to both will be severely curtailed due to their narrow width, while it will also mean the temporary loss of about half the car parking spaces there because of the size of the plant machinery used for the works.

Local Independent Councillor Hughie McGrath says a blanket closure for the duration would be disastrous for businesses in the area.

However Nenagh District Director Marcus O'Connor says there is constant consultation with Ervia and the needs of businesses will be considered.
