Efforts made to Reopen Marl Bog Forest

The popular spot is currently closed to the public for health and safety reasons due to windblown trees but an assessment of the damage is underway.

Junior Agriculture Minister Tom Hayes says the initial focus is on clearing the duck pond loop and main forest road which is due to be completed soon.

The second phase will then focus on removing fallen trees in both the car park and in the forest itself and in the meantime walkers are urged to use the Bishopswood site on the Thurles side of Dundrum.
