Badly needed employment boost for West Tipp.

The new positions are set to be created by energy company Pinergy in association with locally based call centre firm DSM

It's seen as the first significant employment boost for the area in many months.

A total of 46 new jobs are set to be created through this partnership between Pinergy and DSM which is based on the Dundrum Road in Tipperary Town.

16 of the positions will be based at DSM's offices – which provides outsourced direct field sales for firms such as Phonewatch while it also recruits, trains and manages these sales teams.

The remainder of the jobs will be in on the road sales – across both Tipperary and Limerick for Pinergy- which offers pay as you go energy through Water Power Engineering – or WPE which is licenced by the Commission of Energy Regulation to supply electricity to domestic households.

Environment Minister and Tipperary TD Alan Kelly will be on hand today for the formal announcement along with Rugby International Paul O'Connell who an investor in Pinergy.
