Gardai have arrested a man in connection with a suspected child abduction in County Laois.
Officers detained the man in Kilkenny today after reports a girl was put into a jeep in Cullahill in Laois yesterday.
It’s understood he had been driving around and begging for money but then reportedly spoke to two children in the area before putting one of them- the little girl – into the jeep.
However she managed to escape when her ten-year-old brother jumped on the back.
Gardaí subsequently issued an appeal and a man was arrested in Castlecomer in Co Kilkenny.
